Let your story rise from the page.
Give your readers another way to explore your world. With Book, one QR code on the opening page starts an augmented reality experience in the mobile browser. Point the camera at your registered illustrated pages and watch their 3D models appear.
Your printed book becomes the stage for your 3D story.
Book is built for authors, illustrators and publishers who want to add augmented reality to a printed book. Upload the exact artwork for up to 10 AR pages, add up to 3 models to each page and set their orientation and height. Readers scan the first-page QR once, allow camera access, then turn from one registered page to the next. The artwork identifies the page and anchors its content; no extra QR codes or app installation are required.
One QR. A discovery on every AR page.
A character, an animal, an object or a scene can appear above the printed illustration. Each registered page brings up its own models, so the digital layer follows your story as the reader turns the pages.
Everything you need for AR books.
- One opening-page QR — Publish one project QR for the first page. Readers scan it once to open the book experience in their phone’s browser.
- Up to 10 recognizable pages — Register the exact artwork of up to 10 printed pages. Detailed, high-contrast illustrations help the camera distinguish one page from another.
- Up to 3 models per page — Add characters, objects or scenes to each AR page. Use compact 3D files to keep the reading experience quick to load.
- Rotation and height you control — Set X, Y and Z rotation in degrees and choose the height above the page for each model. Rotation and height default to 0; scale can also be adjusted.
- Content you can refine — Preview your models before publishing and update the digital content from your dashboard while keeping the same printed QR.
- A 3D view beyond the camera — A digital page browser lets readers explore the book’s models when they prefer a screen-only view or their device cannot run AR.
See how the experience is being used—not just what you published.
Follow the published book’s image-scan activity and account credit usage from your project dashboard. Use the figures to understand how the AR layer is being discovered after the print run.
- Page image scans — See the project’s counted image-recognition activity.
- Published QR activity — Review the usage recorded for the book’s published QR.
- Shared credit balance — Keep track of this book’s usage alongside your other projects.
From setup to the first scan.
One QR starts the book. Up to 10 registered page illustrations reveal their own 3D content as readers turn the pages.
- Register the illustrated pages — Enter the book title, author and available languages. Add up to 10 AR pages with their printed page numbers and the exact artwork that readers will point at.
- Add and place the models — Add up to 3 models to each page and set their rotation, height and scale. Add a page title and optional audio narration for each language. Preview and test on a printed proof.
- Publish the opening-page QR — Save and publish your book, download the project QR and place it on the first page. The same QR opens the content for every registered AR page.
Questions about AR books
How do I add augmented reality to my printed book?
Create a Book project, upload the artwork for each AR page and add its 3D models. Adjust their rotation, height and scale, then publish and place the generated QR on the book’s opening page. Test with the actual printed pages before the print run.
Do readers need an app or a QR on every page?
No app installation is required. Readers scan the opening-page QR once, open the mobile browser and allow camera access. The registered page illustrations then trigger the content, so they do not need another QR on each page.
How many pages and 3D models can a book include?
Each Book project supports up to 10 AR pages and up to 3 models per page. The printed book can have more pages; only the registered pages trigger AR content.
Can I change the position of a 3D model?
Yes. Set rotation around the X, Y and Z axes and the height above the page separately for each model. Rotation and height start at 0. Height uses the page width as its unit, and scale is adjustable too.
What makes a good page for image recognition?
Use the exact printed artwork, with distinctive details and strong contrast, photographed or exported straight-on. Avoid blank pages, repetitive layouts or plain text alone. Keep the page visible, flat and well lit while scanning.
Can I update the experience after the book is printed?
Yes. Save and republish changes from the dashboard to refresh the digital content using the same project QR. The uploaded target artwork must continue to match the printed pages.
